There's a lot going on at Timberridge! Planting, building, feeding, learning. All with our plan to provide you with unique chickens and goats, original arts and crafts, and wholesome, heirloom foods and seeds.
We invite you to share our journey as we grow our homestead.
Timber Ridge Homestead began as a search for a weekend getaway. A special place to camp with family and friends and commune with nature if only for a few days before returning to the workaday world. Little could we know that our quest would lead us to a place of peace and fulfillment in the Great Smoky Mountains. Our explorations, sometimes tearfully frustrating, ultimately led us home.
To survive, a homestead must be productive. It's impossible to be totally "self-sufficient". There are degrees. But there's a lot more to survival than producing goods and services. And who wants to simply "survive" anyway? We want to thrive. And we are! So we highlight products for sale here, and hope you'll enjoy owning them as much as we did creating them. But survival entails a lot more than commerce. Food, water and shelter come to mind.
In these pages we share, in addition to the fruits of our labors, the experiences, motivations and lessons that have brought us to the happiest time of our lives. We wish you the same! Browse and enjoy!
